Owners Cottage also offers additional accommodation with four luxurious

The rooms, located on the banks of the river, offer every comfort

Wharekauhau Country Estate
Set between the Rimutaka Mountains and the rugged beauty of Palliser
Bay, Wharekauhau Country Estate, two hours from Wellington, overlooks
16 miles of stunning coastal scenery, black volcanic sand beaches,
rich green pastures and cloud-covered peaks. As part of a 5,000-acre
working sheep station, Wharekauhau recaptures the gracious lifestyle
of a bygone era.
Guest accommodation is provided in charming cottages located throughout
the grounds, all within easy walking distance of the main house.
Each cottage takes advantage of the magnificent ocean views and
features a super king-sized canopied bed; open fireplace; under-floor
heating; and plush sofas and chairs.
A four-course dinner is served at the main house in a dinner party
atmosphere with guests seated communally at tables of eight to ten.
For those who wish to enjoy a more secluded setting, a variety of
